
The lecture prepared by Korean Language and Literature department, <Write, Earn money: Tears of an Unknown Editor and Life of Creation> was held on Wednesday, May 12, at Room 308 of the Nichols Hall of CUK and zoom. The lecture was held for two hours from 5 to 7 pm. Kim Jung-nyeon, a graduate of the Department of Korean Language and Literature at CUKand now who is working as a brand editor gave this lecture.
In the first session of the lecture, he explained the basic concept of what an editor is and the three types of editors: Magazine Content Editor, Book Editor, Commercial Editor. He advised students on what they need to do to have a job competency as an editor. He emphasized that second graders should focus on their insights, intellectual curiosity, and finding their tastes. For the third, fourth graders, he said "All editing creations you have created will lead you to a good job".
In the second session, Q&A time was conducted. To the question “How do you deal with your lack of ability?” he replied, "It is important to accept what you lack and make plans basedon feedback." Also, to the question "What conditions do you think are necessary to create a good creation?”, he answered, "'Money', because it expands the scope of opportunities.“
After giving lectures, he remarked that it was meaningful to share his experiences as an editor with CUK students. Lastly, he said students who dream of becoming editors, “I hope you can take on the job of editing by using various multimedia devices and your abilities. This job is very rewarding, so I hope more talented and interested people come in and enjoy the content of various creators in the future.
